How much money can you really make with Amazon Mechanical Turk?
I was conducting a little keyword research online today looking for trending phrases rooted in “make money online” when I discovered Amazon Mechanical Turk. For those who are not familiar, Amazon Mechanical Turk is a place where both those looking for work and those who have small tasks available can connect. These jobs, based on what I found, pay only pennies for tasks, most of which require anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours to complete.
Now I have no idea as to the finite details of Amazon Mechanical Turk, nor am I inclined to dig further to learn more about Amazon Mechanical Turk. If you have found this blog post because you are looking for work via Amazon Mechanical Turk, however, before you invest time into something that only pays pennies for tasks, consider this…
Did you know that health, wellness and weight loss is projected to be a 514 BILLION dollar industry by the end of the 2nd quarter in 2014? Most of what I found concerning Amazon Mechanical Turk through Google, in the form of reviews, came from people who were looking for anything that they could do to subsidize income during a time of unemployment.
I don’t know enough about Amazon Mechanical Turk to say whether or not that time being invested in it is or isn’t worth it… I don’t know. What I do know is that the potential to generate income from an industry that is growing to 514 billion over the next couple of years, if you do that math, will put more money in the bank then doing small tasks for pennies per hour.
Over on the right hand side of this blog you will find an ad for a product called Skinny Fiber, by Skinny Body Care. At the recommendation of a close friend, I joined this opportunity about three months ago. To date, using a simple organic Google marketing strategy, that ad is generating product sales and distributor sign ups automatically. All I have to do is ad content to my blog. To date I have not called a single prospect and I’m still signing up in every five people who take the tour of the Skinny Body Care opportunity.
Which makes more sense? Doing small tasks for next to nothing or creating a blog, targeting high traffic, low competition keywords and using that traffic to generate sales and sign ups in a legitimate opportunity providing product to one of the largest niche markets in the world? You be the judge… if there was ever a true “no-brainer”, this is probably as close as you can come.
If you are happy with making pennies then, by all means, continue looking into Amazon Mechanical Turk and I wish you the best of success with that. If, however, you are looking for more the please consider what I have said in the post before looking any further.
