As an Internet marketer do you need an autoresponder? Ninety-nine point nine percent of the time the answer to that question is yes. If you are serious about building a legitimate image and brand, via the Internet, then an autoresponder is a must.
The autoresponder to the Internet marketer is like the hammer to the carpenter. And, like A-1 Steak Sauce, yes… it’s that important!
Using an autoresponder does several things for you to include assisting you in building a relationship with your subscribers through information and free incentives, automating the marketing and advertising process as well as giving you a way to communicate with your subscribers, at a moments notice, through an e-mail broadcast.
There are several autoresponders available online that will do the job. Over the past decade I have tried and used many but my favorite is TrafficWave. I won’t go into the details as to why in this post because I’ve already created a post about TrafficWave, which is accessible by clicking here.
If you are already using another top autoresponder, here’s a handful of helpful tips to assist you in improving results and keeping your subscribers:
1.) Free Incentives – One of the best ways to generate subscribers is to offer a niche specific incentive without cost or obligation. At WeightLossMaven.com we offer a free sample package of a popular weight loss product to all new visitors that reach that blog. You can also offer free information resources, including videos, (based on your niche market) to people for the same purpose.
2.) Continue Giving – Most people are a bit too eager to get right into selling once people opt-in to their autoresponder. One of the best ways to build a relational foundation with your leaders is to continue the giving process. It’s okay to sell and promote but don’t make that the primary function of your autoresponder. The broadcast feature of your autoresponder can be used for selling so keep it to a minimum in your automated letters. Remember, the key to becoming a successful Internet marketer is to sell people on you. When people are sold on you the rest follows.
3.) Timing Is Everything – Send too much and people will unsubscribe from your autoresponder. Send too little and people will forget who you are. There are several theories as to how often you should send and when you shouldn’t. Common sense is the best guide. A good way to base your sending is to ask yourself what would you be happy with as a subscriber to another list? Sending in patterns is also good. This way your subscriber base will become accustomed to your schedule.
4.) Short And Simple Letters – People don’t like to read, as a general rule. If there is too much content in your autoresponder letters people will not read it all. It’s best to keep things simple, straight forward and to the point. If you have significant content to share then put it in a .pdf doc and share it through a link versus all in one autoresponder e-mail. You can also create a video and post it to the web and then share a link to the video. This works very well and gives your subscribers a closer, more personal experience with you. Anything you can do to build trust will increase revenue.
5.) Webinars – For those who are willing to take the autoresponder campaign to a higher level, holding training and information webinars will assist you in connecting with your subscribers directly. In the new age of social media, anything we can do to build upon our relationships with people will serve us well over time. There are free conferencing resources available online that make this very easy to include FreeConferncing.com and FreeScreenSharing.com.
If you do not have an autoresponder here are a things to keep in mind before making a decision to purchase:
- Many autoresponder systems charge you more as you reach a certain number of leads or a certain number of autoresponders. TrafficWave does not. TrafficWave is a flat rate $17.95 per month for unlimited leads and unlimited autoresponders. You also earn $17.95 per referral plus monthly residual commissions. With a few referrals, TrafficWave is free. With a little effort you can generate a full time income with TrafficWave.
- Several autoresponder systems have become complicated. An autoresponder is really one of those “less is more” type of resources. The easier it is for you to use and understand, the better. It’s best to steer clear from anything that doesn’t offer you the opportunity to try before you buy. You want to make sure that you and your autoresponder are a good fit.
- Purchase your autoresponder from someone who is willing to take the time to work with you and show you how to use it. Before you just decide to buy online, or even take a free trial, connect with the person selling it (if such a case applies) and make sure they can answer your questions and support you in the learning process.
I hope you have found these tips useful. If you would like to learn more about building a better autoresponder campaign or have questions about purchasing an autoresponder feel free to give a call for a no hassle, no obligation consultation. 239-692-1468.
